Disinformation & the effect on an unsuspecting public

I am contstantly amazed at the level of disinformation released by politicians on an unsuspecting public. There is continued talk of hundreds of thousands of jobs lost due to the proposed (but rejected) 6 month moritorium on off-shore oil exploration.
